During the First World War, there were many people prosecuted under the Lights (Central Area) Order of 1916, including:
ERNEST LANE, landlord of the ADELPHI HOTEL, Fylde Street, who admitted an offence at 8.15pm on the 5th inst., and was fined 5/-.
P.C. Prescott said no attempt had been made to obscure the light.
