A PRESTON BEER-SELLER FINED
Joseph Towler (Fowler) landlord of the Borough Tavern, 
Fishergate, was charged on the 15th August with being drunk 
on his own premises. The police visited the house at 9.20pm on
Tuesday 12th August, and found the defendant sitting in the bar
parlour. He was drunk. The landlady's attention was called to his
condition, and she replied that he was always drunk.
He was fined 5s. with costs.
