across from the Skating Rink. The rink was, at
one time Cardwell's Brewery.

Mr. Parker appeared for the renewal of the licence of the Fruiterers' Arms, Tithebarn-street, owned by William Hall, Brewer, Moor Park Avenue, and tenanted by Thomas Bamber.

Inspector Clayton said the rent was £40 a year. The house was fairly clean. The sales averaged eight barrels per week. On one Saturday night he found 34 customers.

Warrant Sergeant Simpson spoke to finding an average of 25 customers on seven visits, and on one Sunday evening as many as 46.
