Readers who have material that they are prepared to share on this site, should send it to me at srh.steve@aol.co.uk

This could take the form of family history details, stories relating to a property, or a photograph. All additions will be credited in the way you prescribe.

A new addition could benefit YOU! and vice versa; so, please keep it coming.

The Institute of Local and Family History was founded in 2001 to provide training, resources and courses for those with an interest in the history of families and communities in Lancashire, the north west of England, and beyond. We hold regular events throughout the year in Preston and provide access via this website to indexes and other resources created in house by academics and students.

This link should take you to the Flickr 'Preston Pubs' section, which I have happily agreed to support in terms of visual material. The manager's of the site have agreed that any new material obtained by them, may be used on the 'pubsinpreston' site.  There is far more to the above than inns and taverns. It's all things Preston. TAKE A LOOK TODAY.

My name is Ben Robinson, I am a reporter at the Lancashire Evening Post, and a dedicated disciple of all things pubs. Here you will find a selection of my musings on some of Lancashire's many fine watering holes. From top real ale venues, to the best sports bars or family facilities, I try to sample them all. You will also find a weekly pub review in the 'What's On' section of the LEP every Friday.
